Connecting Eyes, Heart, Hand, with Natasha Isenhour
March 13-16, 2023, 9:00am-3:00pm
Registration Deadline: March 03, 2023
* All 2-D Mediums Welcome *
A comprehensive, deep diving, overview of applying the philosophy that your art is a manifestation of what you observe (eyes), combined with your emotional response (heart) and the expression of it with your hand.
Learn to develop your skill as a painter in this four-day intensive class where you will dig deeper into how to express your subjects using my intuitive approach while working with your unique voice. All 2-D mediums are welcome! My expertise is in oil, pastel and watercolor, but the principles of composition, color, temperature and value are universal.
We will explore materials, methods and techniques to help you represent your subject. This is about learning to paint in your own unique voice, not a formula seeking to teach all students to paint the same way. Through discussion and abundant studio time, you will be learning your personal path toward being the one-of-a-kind artist that you are.
As my former students attest, my singular goal is to have you leave a better artist, a better version of YOU. Some prior knowledge of the medium is required, however, weekenders, hobbyists as well as professionals will all gain personal power and artistic awareness in this opportunity.

As a New Mexico resident of 25 years, American Realist Natasha Isenhour captures her emotional response to her subjects with a contemporary edge in oil and pastel. Painting in plein air throughout the year informs her studio work through the on-site study of value and color temperature as it can only be seen with the eye.
Isenhour’s second solo museum exhibition was held in the Fall of 22 at the Taos Art Museum. Natasha was awarded the “People’s Choice Award” of the Plein Air Invitational 2022 at the Borrego Art Institute. In the Fall of 21, Isenhour was one of the 5 To Watch in Fine Art Connoisseur Magazine, and in the summer of 2020 she was honored with a 6 page feature in Art of the West Magazine along with several other inclusions in 20-21 in Southwest Art Magazine and Plein Air Magazine. In February 2023 she will be an invited artist for her 3rd year at the Borrego Springs Plein Air Invitational.
