Executive Director 

Borrego Art Institute (BAI), a 501c(3) nonprofit organization in Borrego Springs, CA, is seeking an Executive Director to lead BAI through its next phase of growth. BAI is a diverse organization with the goal to inspire and enrich the community of Borrego Springs by offering a venue for the public to experience, create, and enjoy all forms of art. BAI includes a Gallery, Restaurant, Kid’s Art program, Pottery and Art Farm.

The Executive Director will assume overall responsibility for all aspects of the BAI’s management and operations, managing an annual budget of approximately $1 million. Position reports to BAI’s President and Board of Directors.

Compensation ranging from $50K to $70K, negotiable and commensurate with experience and skills. Interested parties should submit resume and qualifications to: employment@borregoartinstitute.org.

Responsibilities

  • 1.     Overall responsibility for all aspects of BAIs management and operations
  • 2.     Oversee fundraising and membership activities
  • 3.     Assume responsibility for BAI marketing programs, including online and print
  • 4.     Oversee and assist with accounting, administrative and human resource functions
  • 5.     Oversee and assist managers of each of the BAI’s operating departments: Kesling’s Kitchen, Gallery, Kid’s Art, Pottery and Art Farm, with the operational and administrative aspects of their activities
  • 6.     Assist Board in strategic planning, mission building, community outreach

    Experience

    • 1.     General management experience in a business or non-profit organization
    • 2.     Experience working with accountants and bookkeepers – working knowledge of Quickbooks accounting software highly desirable.
    • 3.     Demonstrated communications ability
    • 4.     Experience working with a Board of Directors
